1986 (I think) KDX Enduro, this is an air cooled 2-stroke bike, ideal for field fun and muddyness. I bought this bike so that I could accompany my trainee shedologist on his KX 80, as prior to this, his sorties were mainly short 10 minute stints. Once I was able to join him, we could play follow the leader, and now that we have fields of our own to play in, we don't have to put up with moaning gits calling the police on us.
The alternator came loose and destroyed itself, due to a previous owners bodge. After having the stator repaired by "west country windings", and riveting the rotor back together, it has been very reliable. I have to keep an eye on the rivets, as if these work loose, there will be a repeat disaster.
Poor starting and intermitten running was traced down to a gummed up carburetter, once cleaned the machine seems reliable.
I don't get to use it much, as most free time is used up with the Yeti Monster rebuild, but my son is now tall enough to ride it, so we do occasionally put it out on the field.
